How much perfume should I apply every time?
When they say, "everything in moderation", perfume, fragrances and colognes are definitely included in that statement. Just as you wouldn't wear too many accessories, or colours that don't particularly match, so would you too be mindful of your perfumes and how you apply them. The art of applying a fragrance to acquire a sensuous scent the entire day, takes a little skill and some practise, and of course a few things that should always be remembered. For one, applying perfume is to allow others to appreciate your gorgeous scent, and so apply the fragrant aromatics to such a degree that you can only barely smell the scent on yourself. If you have someone near, ask for their opinion, and whether they can smell your fragrance. If it's too much, be mindful of that and apply a little less the following time. A good idea is to always begin with a little fragrance, and work your way up from there, until you establish an identifying point, with the help of a friend. Spray one or two squirts of fragrance in the air, and walk through the mist as it falls to the floor. Ask your friend for their opinion, and if required, reapply. If your friend can smell your fragrance and it carries, then make a mental note to only apply two squirts in future, as that will be the perfect amount for your skin. If however, your spray test is conducted indoors or during the daytime, add one more squirt to your benchmark, for eveningwear or the outdoors. Once you've mastered the walk-through mist method of application, which is the best way to achieve a light all-over fragrance, then move on to applying fragrance directly to the skin. Use the same method to determine the number of squirts or sprays to atomise, to gain the optimum amount of scent, without going overboard. Always apply perfumes to your pulse points first.
