This is a very busy time of the year for domestic tourists, so expect some crowding at major attractions. We recommend booking these dates well in advance as accommodations and transportation availability is extremely limited.

Then, you’ll strap on your boots and hike into the countryside around Longji to wander the picturesque rice paddies. (Depending on the season, you may even get to help out with the harvest.) See the limestone karsts of Guilin before you return to modern times with a two-day stint in always-on Hong Kong. Nature and modernity, in perfect balance.

Spend a free day exploring the mix of modern and historic in Shanghai before boarding an overnight train to Yangshuo.
