Italy Tours & Vacations

Cruise canals, peruse piazzas, veer towards the Vatican and polish off the perfect pizza.

Italy may be one of Europe's most-visited countries, but finding your way around Venice’s canals, choosing the best place for gelato in Rome, and knowing your agnello from your agnolotti are skills best learned from locals. Our Italy tours & vacations are all about strolling down cobbled lanes in city backstreets and ancient walled villages in search of la dolce vita. Once here, the opportunities are endless – from tasting balsamic vinegar in a traditional acetaia in Modena and sailing past pastel-hued cliffside villages on the Amalfi Coast, to sampling local wine in Tuscany's vineyards and admiring lesser-known Renaissance art in Florence. One thing's for sure: you won’t be going hungry.

Amalfi Coast: Hike & Kayak

Laurie · Traveled April 2024
An adventurous way to see Amalfi and all her hidden gems. From Pompeii, Path of Gods, Positano, Minori, Capri, Atrani, and Amalfi, each one so different. Lived the ruins, history and waterfall.

Rome to Amalfi

This tour was mind blowing - seeing Pompei, Mt Vesuvius and the Amalfi was incredible. Highlights were the Pompei Ruins, Capri and the Path of The Gods. We were incredibly lucky to have Michela as our tour leader - she was knowledgeable and made the trip extremely enjoyable. Thank you!

Maybe have a backup activity for when the weather postpones the planned activity.

Amalfi Coast: Hike & Kayak

Diana · Traveled April 2024
The trip exceeded our expectations. The beauty of the Amalfi Coast speaks for itself but, with the expert guidance of Giovanni, we were able to see the inner beauty and history of the area. Every day, Giovanni shared interesting history and knowledge of native plants and flowers. To anyone interested in this trip, there are a lot of stairs. With that bit of knowledge, don't hesitate to take this trip. You won't be disappointed.

Highlights of Italy

Yasheeka · Traveled April 2024
I had my first trip with Intrepid and overall it was a very good experience. Our tour guide Lisa was amazing and did a great job managing the trip. It was unusually cold and down poured rain during the visit to Cinque Terre. Lisa pivoted to ensure we were able to see all villages despite the bad weather and did it with positivity and cheerfulness. It still ended up being a very good time. I met awesome people during the trip. This trip definitely eased anxieties of traveling outside the country. My only recommendation for improvement is that Intrepid should book all room and board close to transportation and attractions. This was not the case for La Spezia and Rome. Or, Intrepid should be very clear that some hotel locations are rather far so customers can make informed decisions and preplanning. Overall, amazing trip and I'm glad I had the experience!
