From Bryce Canyon to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, this mountain biking journey features the most iconic landscapes of the American Southwest. Perfect for intermediate and advanced riders, this trip packs multiple must-see, must-do items into a single long weekend – while still giving you time to breathe. We embark from Las Vegas to Utah’s Red Canyon to ride the rolling Thunder Mountain Trail through the Mars-like hoodoo landscape of Dixie National Forest. From there, we hike Bryce Canyon National Park, with its sandstone spires, and then make our way to the remote North Rim of the Grand Canyon for two days of scenery and solitude. On the North Rim, we ride the Rainbow Rim Trail – a ribbon of smooth singletrack with views of the canyon’s splendor – eat three hearty meals a day, stay fresh with solar showers, and sleep under dark, starry skies on the rim of the Grand Canyon. On the final day of our journey, we ride and watch for wildlife in the Kaibab National Forest and explore the Grand Canyon’s scenic Transept Trail on foot. We bid farewell to newfound friends over lunch at the historic North Rim Lodge.

Day 1: Cycle the Thunder Mountain Trail, near Bryce Canyon National Park.

Start place: Park Shore Waikiki

Our trip begins at 7am at our host hotel in Henderson, Nevada (approximately 15 minutes from Las Vegas Airport.) Our guides conduct a brief itinerary orientation and provide gear and packing tips before we set out by van for Red Canyon, located within the Dixie National Forest. Along the way, our guides share stories and answer questions about the geology and history of this unique corner of the American West. After a quick bike fitting, we'll pedal through the swooping hills and valleys of the Thunder Mountain trail. Tonight we camp at the Bryce Canyon Pines Campground. Relax while our guides prepare dinner as the bright red cliffs soak up the last light of the day. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 2: Hike Bryce Canyon; Ride Rainbow Rim Trail, Grand Canyon.
Start the day with breakfast in camp, and transfer to Bryce Canyon National Park. Our hike along the Navajo Loop Trail takes us through the orange and red maze of canyons and towering sandstone spires. The next stop is the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, where we pedal along the Rainbow Rim Trail. Enjoy the exceptional solitude of this single track along a remote rim of the Grand Canyon. Wind through ponderosa pine forests, around small steep side canyons and soak in the sweeping panoramic views. We ride into camp and relax for the night as the stars twinkle above us and the rim of the canyon drops just beyond us. All meals included.
Driving: 4 to 5 hours; Hiking: 1.3 miles; elevation gain 800’; Mountain biking: up to 18 miles; elevation gain: 1,150’; terrain: singletrack and Forest Service road.

Day 3: Ride the Rainbow Rim Trail along the Grand Canyon.
Wake to bird songs and chattering squirrels as you start your second day of riding along the smooth, flowing singletrack of the Rainbow Rim trail. We'll ride from camp, pedaling past Locust Point, North Timp Point, and the spectacular Timp Point overlooks. Each lookout affording its own breathtaking view and perspective of the majestic canyon. Our route winds back along remote forest roads and meandering singletrack where we find our camp for another night. Relax and settle in for another delicious guide prepared dinner. Our last night camping under the clear dark skies of the North Rim. All meals included.

Day 4: Ride the Kaibab National Forest and hike along the Grand Canyon.
We pack up camp this morning, preparing for our last ride of our mountain biking adventure. The lush meadows and tall pines of the Kaibab National Forest are the backdrop for today’s ride. We may catch glimpses of elk, Kaibab squirrels, and Steller’s jays. Our route will end at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, but the adventure isn’t over yet! We'll hike along the Transept Trail, soaking in the pine, oak, and aspen woodland along with more awe-inspiring canyon views. After our hike, we lunch at the historic North Rim lodge before embarking on our drive back to Las Vegas. Guests will be transferred to the Las Vegas airport, or the host hotel in Henderson. We plan on arriving between 6:30 – 7pm. Departing flights can be booked after 9pm. Breakfast and lunch included.
Driving: 6 hours; Mountain biking: up to 9 miles; elevation gain: 500’-1000’; Hiking: 1.5 miles; elevation gain 150’.
