Day 1: Rome
We recommend arriving a day earlier to experience all that this iconic city has to offer.
Arrive at any time. If you wish to spend time in Rome before your tour begins, consider booking pre-tour accommodation with us. Please speak to a G Adventures representative about booking accommodations in Rome before Day 1 of this itinerary.

Please note that if Vatican City is on your must-see list, we highly recommend purchasing your tickets online several weeks prior to your trip. Same-day entrance to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel) cannot be guaranteed without advance tickets.
Day 2: Rome/Capalbio
Settle in to the Tuscan hillside villa located in the heart of Etruria, a quaint historic region rich in archaeological sites. Take in the 360° views of the surrounding sea, countryside, and olive groves.
Enjoy a G Adventures supported migrant led walk of Rome before taking the train to Capalbio. On arrival continue to the villa via private transfer, then take an orientation walk around the property. Sample some home made olive oil and visit the neighbouring winery before sitting down to your first home-cooked dinner. Sit down to a meal prepared with garden-fresh ingredients, olive oil made in-house, and local wine.

Day 3: Capalbio
This morning explore the medieval village of Capalbio, a picturesque town surrounded by untouched 15th Century walls. Enjoy an orientation walk with a visit to the historic Aldobrandeschi Fortress. Take some free time to sit down to lunch and explore on your own.

Day 4: Capalbio
This sunny peninsula is connected to the Tuscan mainland by three narrow sandbars, making this spot ideal for exploring the olive-grove spotted hillside, or floating in the azure sea. For those looking for a glimpse into local life, grab a scoop of gelato and wander around the fishing village of Porto Ercole or the lively Porto Santo Stefano. Take in this region's uniquely rugged, natural beauty.
Transfer to the seaside region of Monte Argentario for a full day of exploration. Opt to wander around the port villages, take a hike in the Tuscan hillside, or spend the day snorkelling at sea. Return to the villa in the evening.

Day 5: Capalbio
Take a free day to explore the southernmost region of Tuscany. Opt to enjoy the villa and surrounding area, or explore futher afield on a bike ride to Feniglia beach, visit the archeological site of Cosa, soak in the local hot springs. Tonight, enjoy a free night to explore Capalbio and opt to enjoy a dinner of traditional Tuscan fare at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Capalbio
Another free day to explore this region or relax at the villa. Opt to take a trip to the quaint Etruscan town of Pitigliano. In the evening, try your hand at Tuscan cuisine during a cooking class, and indulge in tastings of olive oil and local liquors.

Day 7: Capalbio/Rome
Transfer by bus and train to Rome. Depart in the early afternoon from the Rome train station (Termini). This tour will end upon arrival in Rome at approximately 12pm. We suggest booking any onward travel after 3pm.
