Day 1: Welcome to Olympic National Park and the beautiful Sol Duc Valley!

Start place: Park Shore Waikiki

We meet our guides and fellow travelers at our host hotel near the Seattle Airport at 9am for a brief orientation before our three-hour drive to Olympic National Park. Our destination today is beautiful Sol Duc Falls. Cascading 48 feet down a narrow, rocky canyon, these falls are a park favorite. Past the falls we leave the crowds behind and venture along the Sol Duc River, which carries salmon and trout between cool, pristine spawning waters and the mighty Pacific Ocean. After our first hours on the trail, our friendly REI Signature Camp host welcomes us to our home away from home before we enjoy a delicious dinner. Lunch and dinner included.
Hiking: Up to 6 miles depending on route; up to 200’ elevation gain/loss.
Meals: D
Day 2: Wander through the Hall of Mosses in the beautiful Hoh Rainforest.
Today is spent discovering the treasures of the gorgeous Hoh Rainforest. We wander through the Hall of Mosses and along the Spruce Nature Trail, all the while keeping an eye out for a variety of wildlife that call the forest home. As one of the wettest places in the United States, fern, moss, lichen, and giant old-growth forest dominate the landscape and provide a majestic wonderland of biodiversity. Our guides deepen the experience by providing insight into the natural history of the forest. All meals included.
Hiking: 2+ miles; up to 500’ elevation gain/loss with additional hiking options
Meals: B, L, D
Day 3: Witness Mother Nature at work along the rugged Northwest Coast.
The destination for today’s hike will be determined by a number of factors including tides, weather and trail conditions. Regardless of our eventual destination, the picturesque landscape we’ll find along the coastal waterways of Olympic National Park will provide a gorgeous backdrop to a day filled with discoveries. We’ll meander among sea stacks, listen for the howl of wind through towering natural arches and search for a variety of sea creatures in tide pools teeming with life. Don’t forget your camera as we may even catch a glimpse of a playful sea otter or a soaring bald eagle returning from a hunt. All meals included.
Hiking: Up to 4 miles; up to 310’ elevation gain/loss.
Meals: B, L, D
Day 4: Hike Elk Mountain for Olympic Mountain views.
We enjoy breakfast prepared by our Signature Camp host before making the one-and-a-half hour transfer to our trailhead to hike Obstruction Peak. Our trail starts out in an area well known for marmots; watching these social rodents is surprisingly engaging and entertaining. As we make our way along the trail we are rewarded with wildflowers and clear views. The approach to Elk Mountain is moderately steep; once on top we find a place to enjoy our picnic lunch and the incredible views. Our efforts are rewarded with an expansive view of the Olympic Mountains—on a clear day we will see from Mount Christie in the south to the Bailey Range in the north. Our views of glacier-topped, craggy mountains seem worlds away from the rainforests and sea stacks of the past couple days. All meals included.
Hiking approximately 5 miles; 1,300+’ elevation gain and loss.
Meals: B, L, D
Day 5: Take in views from Hurricane Hill; transfer to Seattle.
After a final breakfast together we pack up our things and prepare to leave our comfortable Signature Camp accommodations for the last time. Today we’ll be hiking Hurricane Hill. Our drive is nearly one hour to the trailhead in the Deer Park area of Olympic National Park. We hike just over a mile and a half to the summit of Hurricane Hill. This area is also known for its incredible views and is a favorite of our skilled guides. This is a perfect location to end our Olympic National Park experience as it provides us with views out to the water and beyond, giving us perspective of all we have explored over the past five days. We expect to be back at the host hotel near Seattle’s airport between 5-6pm. If planning to fly out this same day, we recommend not booking flights prior to 8pm this evening. Breakfast and lunch included.
Hiking: 3.5 miles; 650’ elevation gain and loss.

End place: Travelodge Clifton Hill

Meals: B, L
