This eight-day sailing tour around the north coast of Sri Lanka ensures you hit all the region's best highlights but leaves room in the itinerary to explore hidden gems and join activities that best meet the interests of the group. Expect to visit plenty of remote islands with deserted beaches and small fishing villages, experience Tamil traditions with lunch in a local's home, and tour Delft Island to learn about Sri Lanka's Dutch colonial history. There's plenty of time in between for swimming, snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking to complete your experience on the water.

Itinerary
Day 1: Colombo
There are no planned activities until an evening welcome meeting.
Arrive at any time.
Please note: While it is our intention to adhere to the route described, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable, to make alterations. On Day 2 of your tour you will be advised of any amendments.
Day 2: Colombo/Jaffna
An early start in Colombo to catch the train. Enjoy the scenery as you head north to Jaffna, to meet your Sailing CEO and board the boat. Get settled in to your cabin and set sail from the Kurikkaduwan Jetty.
The train to and from Jaffna is not accompanied by a CEO, but you will have someone see you off and meet you on both ends.

Day 3-6: Northern Islands
Flexible itineraries give our experienced skippers the opportunity to showcase all the hidden gems you’re looking for, we follow the desires of the group and cater the sailing experience to provide each group a quality journey while on board.
Located between India and Sri Lanka, the Palk Bay and Strait are home to tiny islands, unique coral formations, isolated fishing communities, and centuries of history, culture and tradition.
Spend the week exploring temples, beaches, and reefs, and meet the people who call this remote corner of Sri Lanka home.

Day 7: Jaffna/Colombo
After a final morning on board, disembark at Kurikkaduwan Jetty, and begin the train trip back to Colombo. Arrive back into Colombo in the evening.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the train schedule, we do not recommend booking flights out of Colombo until the following day.
