Our 8-day Scotland hiking adventure takes us to the most stunning areas in all of the highlands and the islands. Chiseled by the hands of time, Scotland offers visitors hauntingly rugged beauty. The highlands are an area rich with the history of legends and lore, clashes and celebrations. We take to the trails on foot, hiking amid dramatic cliffs, beautiful isles and sparkling lochs. Along the way, we visit medieval castles, drop in at Scottish pubs, and, with the help of our local guides, gain a better understanding of this charming region. Our hiking starts in Ullapool, a fishing village whose people have lived off the sea for generations. Walking in Inverpolly, we are greeted by heather, wild orchids and thistle which carpet the landscape. We pass through wild moorlands to Gairloch, where the coastline offers miles of beautiful cliffs and sea stacks. Along the rugged coast, rock towers rise starkly against a blue backdrop of the Isle of Skye. Hike a glacier-carved cirque in the Cuillin Mountains and Trotternish Ridge to The Table, a grassy summit plateau offering dramatic views that stretch to the sea. This is a great trip for adults and fit, older teens. If you're traveling with younger children, check out our Scotland Family Adventure.
