Day 1: Los Angeles
Enjoy free time in Santa Monica, where the hostel is located, and check out the famous pier or hit the beach. Consider booking pre-tour accommodation if you'd like to see all of the popular sights in the area.

Day 2: Los Angeles/Lake Havasu
Be on celebrity-watch while passing by a few popular sites on the way out of California's most glamourous city. Hike among the boulders and famous Joshua trees, then cool off in the crystal-clear waters of the Colorado River at Lake Havasu.

Day 3: Lake Havasu/Grand Canyon
In the morning, discover something unexpected, the London Bridge, in Lake Havasu City. Continue across vast desert landscapes to one of the earth's greatest on-going geological spectacles: the Grand Canyon. Take short hikes at the most spectacular gorge in the world and enjoy a pizza dinner at the rim as you view the stunning sunset.

Day 4: Grand Canyon/Las Vegas
For our night in Las Vegas, we stay close to the action in a hotel in the city centre.
Pre-book a bird's-eye view of the Grand Canyon with an optional helicopter flight. Travel Route 66, then explore Las Vegas along the strip and opt for a VIP party limo experience.

Day 5: Las Vegas/Sierra Nevadas
Visit a land of extremes in Death Valley National Park.

Day 6: Sierra Nevadas/Yosemite National Park
With a keen eye, you may be lucky enough to spot black bears, deer or coyotes.
Discover Yosemite's peaks, granite domes and giant sequoias. Marvel at majestic waterfalls, lakes and meadows. We intend to use the Tioga Pass, a scenic a route through the Sierra Nevada mountain range that connects Bishop with Yosemite NP. In the spring and autumn seasons, there's a chance the pass will be closed due to poor weather conditions or even snow. In this case, we use an alternate route, and spend the night in Lake Isabella instead of Bishop. The status of the road is monitored daily, and our travel plan for the area will be confirmed during the trip.

Day 7: Yosemite National Park/San Francisco
Catch a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge on the way into one of America's most popular cities. Opt to take a cable car ride over the steep hills, rent a bike to explore the city on wheels, or pre book a sailing trip into the setting sun.

Day 8: San Francisco/Calgary
Bid farewell to the States and fly north of the border to Calgary. Opt to meet new members of the group at an evening welcome meeting.

Day 9: Calgary/Banff

Discover the beautiful town of Banff; view wildlife, take a gondola ride, or hike up a mountain for spectacular views.

Gaze at the beauty of Lake Louise, and hike to the Agnes Lake Tea House or along the Six Glaciers Trail.

Head into Yoho National Park and visit the mighty Tekakkaw Falls and Emerald Lake. Opt to go whitewater rafting in the afternoon.

Day 12: Lake Louise/Jasper

To travel the icefield parkway is to experience one of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations. Stretching 230km (155 mi) between Lake Louise and the town of Jasper, the parkway offers easy access to one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes on Earth. This is a wonderful journey through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, a vast wilderness of magnificent peaks, pristine mountain lakes, and broad sweeping valleys. Stop at Columbia Icefield for an unforgettable experience. Continue on to Jasper. In the evening, set up your camp and enjoy a nice warm campfire.


Make the stunning drive to Jasper via the Icefield Parkway. Visit beautiful Bow Lake, and stop at Columbia Icefield Centre before arriving in Jasper in the evening.

Stroll through Maligne Canyon and explore the surrounding area of Jasper. In the afternoon, head back to check out the lively mountain town.

Stop at Mount Robson, the tallest mountain in the Rockies, en route to Wells Gray PP.

Head out for an exciting adventure canoeing in the Canadian wilderness. Stop at some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the park, including the world famous Helmcken Falls.

Wake up in one of Canada's greatest natural playgrounds. Go for a hike in the morning, then enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore more of Whistler and its surroundings. You can opt out of today's hike if you'd prefer to spend the whole day exploring other parts of Whistler.

Day 18: Whistler/Tofino

In the morning, drive a short distance to the ferry terminal. Taking a ferry to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island is an exciting part of the adventure of getting here. BC Ferries offers an outstanding service that travels through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. In the afternoon, continue to drive to Tofino, just in time for sunset.
Take a ferry across to Vancouver Island. Stroll the trails beneath ancient Douglas firs in MacMillan Provincial Park. Arrive in time for a gorgeous sunset.

Search for orcas and other whales on a half-day whale watching tour by Zodiac. In the afternoon, enjoy free time and take in Tofino's unique blend of fisher-meets-surfer vibe.

Travel south down Vancouver Island to British Columbia's capital, Victoria. Take a stroll around the city and absorb the West Coast vibe.
