Revel in epic cycling, hiking and scenery on a guided 6-day adventure in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. When the desert calls, consider answering. Because it’s awesome. See for yourself when you join this thoughtfully designed small-group ramble through southern Utah. Most of our time will be spent in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, supplemented with lesser-known but equally interesting destinations. We camp comfy at night and cycle, hike or wander by day. Every morning brings us to new places, from regal canyons of Navajo sandstone to amphitheatres of squiggly, alien-looking hoodoos. We provide high-quality bikes and full support. Expect excellent snacks. After initial fittings, we ride beneath towering pines on the Red Rock Bike Trail; cycle the steep inclines of the Tunnel Climb; cross the layered sandstone of Kodachrome Basin; gawk at the Mars-like formations of Bryce Canyon’s Fairyland; and lots more. We augment our daily rides with optional hikes. Along the way, the guides shed light on our cultural and natural surroundings. No matter how well-seasoned a traveler you are, Southern Utah is worth the trip. Here, you’ll get up close and personal with the full glory—and weirdness—of nature.

Day 1: From St. George to Zion

Start place: Days Inn & Suites by the Falls - Centre St.

Our trip begins at 8 AM at our meet-up hotel in St. George, UT where we will transfer to Snow Canyon State Park for our orientation and bike fitting. We start riding from the state park as we head toward Pioneer Park and later to Hurricane, UT as a warmup for the week ahead. Along the way, your guides share stories and answer questions about the geology and history of this unique corner of the American West. The day finishes in Springdale, UT the gateway to Zion National Park at our campground for the next two nights. We will have dinner at our campsites prepared by our guides. Lunch and Dinner included.
Cycling: 35 miles; Elevation Gain/Loss: +2,044’ / -2,363’; Van transfer: 30 minutes

Day 2: Tunnel Climb, Watchman Overlook & Mountain Town Ramble
We start the day riding the Zion National Park roads and bike trails including the 1000’ climb to the "Tunnel". The day includes the signature red road of Zion's canyon bottom beneath towering cliffs. Lunch today will be on your own so that you can explore the town of Springdale, Utah. After lunch your guides will lead an optional hike on the famous Watchman Trail with more free time after the hike in Springdale. Relax at camp this evening and refuel with a guide prepared dinner. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 3: Through Red Canyon & Fairyland
We begin our transition to Bryce today as we take a transfer to Hatch, UT before putting wheels on the ground and cycling the red rocks to Bryce Canyon and our campground for the next three nights. Although it is only 34 miles to Fairyland Point, those not taking the optional hike at Rainbow Point can start the ride back toward our campground adding more awesome miles to the day. Fairyland Point provides our first glimpse of hoodoos—picturesque, skinny spires of rock that protrude from the bottom of arid basins and "broken" lands. Hikers can opt out of the cycling back to camp. All meals included.
Cycling: 34 miles, Elevation Gain/Loss: +1,601’ / -739’; Hiking (optional): 2.6 miles; Van transfer 1.5 hours
Meals: B, L, D
Day 4: Treasures of Kodachrome Basin
After breakfast we cycle to Kodachrome Basin State Park. This area might boast the name of a popular Paul Simon song, but the real story behind the naming of Kodachrome has more to do with a 1948 National Geographic Society expedition whose members related the area to the color film because of the multi-hued sandstone layers on display here. After biking and some optional hiking among the dramatic sedimentary pipes, we head back to camp and muse over the day's adventures. All meals included.
Cycling: 50 miles; +2941’ / -2941’; Hiking (optional): 1.5 miles
Meals: B, L, D
Day 5: Explore Bryce Canyon from Floor to Rim
Today is full of options to explore the maze of canyons and towering sandstone spires comprising legendary Bryce Canyon National Park including Queen’s Garden or Wall Street trails. We begin at the Visitor Center and set out first on a hilly ride to Rainbow Point where we gaze down thousands of feet and hundreds of miles across the aptly named Grand Staircase. Returning to the Visitor Center via bike we may take another optional short hike from Sunset Point around Navajo Loop. A brief transfer delivers us back to camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.
Cycling: 37 miles, elevation gain 2,000’ / -2000’; Hiking (optional): 3 miles; Van transfer: 1 hour

Day 6: Above Cedar Breaks, the "Circle of Painted Cliffs"
After a casual breakfast, we break camp for our last outing of the week. As we transfer back to St. George, UT we will embark on a mid-morning hike at over 10,000’ in elevation in Cedar Breaks National Monument. We will soon see for ourselves why Native Americans named this breathtaking National Monument “Circle of Painted Cliffs.” Our hike on the Ramparts Overlook Trail through bristle cone pines and brilliantly colored cliffs provides the ultimate end to our tour in the southwest. We say goodbye after lunch in St. George. Breakfast and Lunch included.
Hiking: 4 miles; Van transfer: 2.5 hours
