Spend nine days hiking from the city of music to the soaring spires of Prague. We meet in centuries-old Vienna, a city with more than 1,700 bridges, wide avenues, noble palaces and imperial castles. From there, we take some of the nearly 24,000 miles of color-coded hiking trails etched throughout the Czech Republic. These paths wind us through patchworks of thick forests, meadows and small medieval villages. Our journey takes us past lush, green countryside, splendid castles and vibrant red-roofed villages. Explore the celebrated UNESCO World Heritage towns of Valtice-Lednice, Telč, and Český Krumlov. At the Valtice-Lednice estates, we traverse tree-lined paths past beautiful ponds filled with swans. In the colorful 13th century town of Telč, we explore the well-preserved, pastel-colored town square. Each day brings a new regional delicacy and a good glass of local beer or Moravian wine. Our journey culminates in Prague, "City of a Thousand Spires”. Take in unforgettable sights like 14th-century gargoyles and mosaics at St. Vitus Cathedral. This 7-day adventure provides a feeling of remoteness and ruggedness unmatched in the Lower 48. Capitol Reef is a treasured gem of the national park system. Located in the heart of Utah’s red rock country, this remote territory was the last place in the continental United States to be mapped. Now, travelers from all over the world come to Capitol Reef to explore the stunning cliffs, canyons and domes that make this area a true geological playground. Our hiking routes, personally selected by REI Adventures' top guide, Steve Kasper, are decidedly off the beaten path. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument's 1.9 million acres are filled with natural wonders, from the wide open cliffs and terraces of Grand Staircase to the more intimate narrows of the Escalante River canyons. We retrace an abandoned pioneer trail across a vast slickrock wilderness, hike past cliff dwellings and squeeze our way through some of the least traveled slot canyons in the monument. Evenings are spent in relaxation and comfort, reflecting upon the perfection of one of nature’s wildest playgrounds.

Spend five days enjoying some of Olympic National Park’s greatest hikes during the day and historic accommodations at night. Sprawling across 1,406 square miles of rainforests, glacier-capped mountains and stunning beaches, Olympic National Park is a unique natural playground for adventure lovers. From invigorating jungle hikes to bustling markets, our journey takes us off the typical tourist path. Go on remote hikes free from other tourists, bike through quaint villages and enjoy unique stays in eco-lodge accommodations. We begin in Chiang Mai, the hub of the north. A group zip-lining trip gives us a heart-pounding view of the jungle canopy. The evening brings the option to wander through Chiang Mai’s famous night markets, sifting through displays of handcrafted silk, paper, textiles and culinary treats. Next we turn toward the mountains for a 3-day trek. Hike past beautiful waterfalls and challenging jungle forests. Along the way, we are welcomed into the homes of the hill-tribe people to dine, rest and experience a rare glimpse into the daily life of villagers. We change gears from there, exploring by kayak and mountain bike. Bike to the Chiang Dao caves to explore five interconnected caverns extending some seven miles into the mountains. From north to south, we hike, bike and kayak to iconic UNESCO heritage sites and other hidden gems, like Bai Tu Long Bay. We begin in Hanoi, the heart of the north, cycling the countryside and exploring Old Town on foot. Heading north of Halong Bay, we cruise Bai Tu Long Bay’s emerald waters on a traditional Vietnamese junk (boat) where we sea kayak and swim among the thousands of limestone islands that contribute to the area’s dramatic splendor. In central Vietnam, we gear up for hiking and biking amongst the terraced lime green countryside and enjoy the sublime character of Hoi An’s old town. In the south, a nighttime street food tour takes us through the modern vibrancy of Ho Chi Minh City and by bike, we pedal the trails of the Mekong Delta. Spend 7 days exploring jaw-dropping Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks by gravel or mountain bike. Welcome to two of the great parks of Utah. You’ll say "wow" a lot. Also the occasional "how the bleep did that form?" Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks bring grade-A geological game and rides to match. This trip samples the best of both. We’ll explore prehistoric-seeming desert plateau country on bikes. Canyons and cliffs, monoliths and monoclines. Our expert guides will lead you through it safely, dropping experience-enhancing nature and history knowledge along the way. They’re killer cooks, too, and they handle all the meals. Your standards for camp cuisine will never be the same. At night, we stay in comfy tents and gaze at a super-starry sky. Maybe even the Milky Way! Capitol Reef is designated a "Gold Tier" International Dark Sky Park. The vast Canadian Rockies were shaped over countless years, and we have eight days to hike through the area’s most awe-inspiring scenery. After meeting in Calgary, we drive to the heart of Canada’s hiking capital to set up basecamp for the next five days. Near Lake Louise, we set out with our experienced guides on scenic hiking trails through grand valleys, alongside turquoise lakes and up onto ridgelines with jaw-dropping views of jagged peaks. Spend some time exploring, canoeing and getting to know your companions along the way. Heart-pounding whitewater rafting awaits us in Yoho. Then it’s a hike on the immense Columbia Icefield, a highlight of Jasper National Park. Our adventure comes to a close with a final hike to stunning panoramas surrounding Stanley Glacier in Kootenay National Park. The trip concludes having spent one week roaming through some of the most dramatic scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer.

Spend six days playing in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province, an off-the-beaten-path paradise of volcanoes, cloud forests and jungle waterfalls. Our Costa Rica Adventure strikes the perfect balance of thrill and chill. Starting with a stay at an award-winning eco-lodge near Rincon de la Vieja National Park, we explore an otherworldly geothermal landscape where the earth itself bubbles and boils. Then we refresh our spirits with blue swimming holes, an exhilarating treetop zipline tour and a float down a tropical river. Along with natural beauty, our bilingual local guides help us soak up the regional vibe, which blends the culture of the native Chorotega people with Spanish and African influences. After three days, we travel to laid-back Playa Carrillo to immerse ourselves in sun and sea. Depending on the tides, we behold the coral reef via kayak, snorkel or stand-up paddleboard. Do hands-on good for 10 days in beautiful Costa Rica, helping sea turtle conservation and more from coast to cloud forest. Visit Costa Rica to encounter the rugged, rain forested landscapes, jungles, stunning coastlines, and rich wildlife including spider monkeys and quetzal birds. Help protect its biodiversity by participating in sea turtle preservation on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Along the way, we will visit Carara National Park, home to many scarlet macaws, and Marino Ballena National Park, named for the humpback whales that migrate there, and assist these two Costa Rica national parks with maintenance activities. Our volunteer work will focus on protecting endangered sea turtles which nest in Costa Rica. Project work will consist of late night and early morning beach patrols to locate, excavate, and relocate sea turtle nests to a protected turtle hatchery. Projects will include working in and around the turtle hatchery, recording scientific data, as well as beach cleanups inside the project area and surrounding rivers and beaches. Journey off the beaten track through Utah’s most magnificent landscapes on this five-day REI Signature Camping adventure.
