Centuries ago, French kings and nobility poured into the Loire Valley with the greatest architects of the age, constructing the majestic châteaux, gardens and vineyards that now number among Europe's most beloved treasures. The region's mild climate is ideal for cycling. Its river-laced landscape, dotted with small churches, family farms, historic villages and breathtaking castles provide unbeatable scenery.
We ride 25 to 40 miles each day, mostly on quiet back roads that wind through pastoral scenes. Pass traditional communities with fresh flower markets, produce stands and fine chocolate, while sampling the region's exceptional wines and authentic, freshly-prepared French cuisine. Each night is spent in the comfort of a noteworthy small hotel or guesthouse in the company of like-minded adventurers. Our exceptional guides share their firsthand knowledge of the history and geography of the region, ensuring our Loire Valley cycling tour is absolutely unforgettable.

Explore jumbled rocks along vast stretches of shoreline. We find the end of our route in Sagres. This bluff, once thought to be the end of the world, is where ships departed from the sailing school of Prince Henry the Navigator in a quest to discover far-off lands. Take in the beauty of the shoreline before we ourselves depart home.

Canyonlands is a maze of vast canyons amidst a colorful landscape. A private lodge tucked away in the La Sal Mountains is our week-long basecamp. From here, we explore the best of both these exciting worlds.
Alternating between Canyonlands and Arches, our daily hikes take us to scenic viewpoints high above the red canyons of the Colorado River, past giant sandstone arches curving gracefully into the sky, and to panels covered with ancient Native American rock art. We stop occasionally to take pictures and to take it all in, knowing this shared experience provides a better connection to nature and to each other.

A tiny Mediterranean country full of big adventure, this is a journey that will not soon be forgotten.
Water and wind have sculpted these extraordinary national parks; a sense of wonder and adventure will guide us through this 7-day hiking journey.
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks offer active explorers an unforgettable introduction to the grandeur of the Colorado Plateau's high desert. Each park brings its own beauty, but both take their name very much to heart. Arches, located on the Colorado River, has 2,000 natural sandstone arches dotting its terrain.
Six days in the largest national park in the contiguous United States takes us through peaks and valleys and across unforgettable scenery.
Death Valley's rarely-traveled backcountry holds vast beauty. Experience staggering altitude changes and extensive swaths of desert. Explore winding slot canyons with soaring walls of limestone and marble. Take in views of both the highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States. Discover some of the park’s best sights with the guidance of expert, local guides.
Over 90% of Death Valley's 3.3 million acres are designated as wilderness. This amounts to an enormous playground of exquisite desert terrain. On our spring departures, we are fortunate to encounter annual wildflower and blooming cactus as they flourish cheerfully along our hike. During the day, we hike between 5 and 10 miles. At night, we retire comfortably to the well-appointed Stovepipe Wells Village Hotel. Hike through the Funeral Mountains, explore hidden narrows, climb a remote desert peak, and so much more. Death Valley's dramatic vistas are incomparable, making for a trip you won't soon forget.
We also offer a camping-based itinerary of this trip in the spring, which takes advantage of temperate weather and blooming wildflowers.
